The First Annual Albuquerque Turkey Enduro
In September 2010 Southwest Motorsport (SWMS) will host the first annual Albuquerque Turkey Enduro race for klunkers (cars costing no more than $559.95). SWMS is a non-profit racing club formed in 1999 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. For more info go to swms.org.
Southwest Motorsport has the perfect venue at Sandia Motorsports Park, a great location central to many western populations centers: a one day drive from Denver, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, El Paso, Tucson, Las Vegas and all points in between.
So, build a car and come race with us. Add a few days to your trip for sight seeing. Santa Fe is a one-hour drive from the track. Taos is another hour north of there. Carlsbad Caverns is just south. There are many other lakes, parks, and cultural attractions to visit in the area, too.
Go west on I-40 from the track to Acoma pueblo known as the Sky City, high on a bluff that probably is the longest inhabited community in America. Albuquerque Old Town is fun and the Unser Museum is a must see for anyone that loves racecars.
